چکیده
Abstract Aim Renal/ureteric colic is common; it has an annual incidence of 1-2 cases per 1000 people and high recurrence rates. National Institute for Health Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines recommend imaging within 24 hours presentation all patients with suspected renal or ureteric stones and, most adults, a low-dose non-contrast computed tomography (CT) scan should be offered. We set out to assess adherence this guidance our centre. Method reviewed the records presenting from December 2019, up including March 2020, in single assessed proportion adult who underwent CT hours. Results The data 95 aged 19-82 years was analysed. found that 37(38.9%) did not receive 16(17%) waited over 1 week KUB. Conclusions Our findings show considerable first renal/ureteric colic. This led plans formal clinical pathway established trust.

Renal infarction in patients presenting with suspected renal colic*
Acute renal infarction is a serious medical emergency. The diagnosis is often delayed or missed as it is not common. Hence, the exact incidence of acute renal infarction is not known. Failure to consider renal infarction in the initial differential diagnosis results in a delay in diagnosis and treatment, which in turn leads to permanent loss of renal function. We present two cases of acute kidn...
متن کاملUtility of hematuria testing in patients with suspected renal colic: correlation with unenhanced helical CT results.
OBJECTIVES To determine the utility of hematuria testing in a large series of patients with suspected renal colic using unenhanced helical computed tomography (CT) as the reference standard. METHODS A retrospective review of the CT reports of all patients who underwent unenhanced helical CT for suspected renal colic at one institution during a 3.5-year period and who also underwent a formal m...

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to determine whether the color Doppler twinkling sign could be considered as an additional diagnostic feature of small renal lithiasis (_5mm). METHODS 181 patients underwent CT scans performed for other pathologies; the images were also analyzed by a radiologists to identify the incidental presence of renal lithiasis equal to or smaller than 5 mm.These pa...
متن کاملMimics of renal colic: alternative diagnoses at unenhanced helical CT.
During the past decade, unenhanced computed tomography (CT) has become the standard of reference in the detection of urinary calculi owing to its high sensitivity (>95%) and specificity (>98%) in this setting. Numerous diseases may manifest as acute flank pain and mimic urolithiasis. Up to one-third of unenhanced CT examinations performed because of flank pain may reveal unsuspected findings un...
